London City Airport is located in the Docklands district of Newham, East London. The airport handles medium-haul aircraft such as the ATR 42, DHC Dash 8, and BAe-146.
My three weeks in London were incredibly busy, and I only found time to shoot at the airport at the end of my trip. Beautiful views of the City and the apron, planes flying 30 meters overhead, magnificent sunsets, the sound of water and the smell of kerosene—all of this can be found right here. I arrived for the shoot around 3:00 PM and left around 9:00 PM. It left me with a wealth of impressions to last me a year.

I took the map from Marina Lysceva photographerWe get off at the Gallions Rich DLR station and walk onto the bridge (highlighted in green). I took the photos from points 1, 2, 3, and 4.

A BAe 146 taxiing to final approach. Taken from point 4.

The O2 Arena is in the background.

Some people take pictures, others train.

Embraer E-170.

We're gradually moving to point 1. If you're arriving at this airport, bring a long-range lens. My 420mm on a full-frame with an extender wasn't enough.

Fokker 50. Taken from point #2.

These are the views that open up from the second point.

"Mister, stop please."

Saab 2000.

Even at such a small airport there are queues.

Lufthansa landed with smoke.

DHC Dash 8. When he took off, I almost got blown away because I was standing behind him. I didn't expect that. I even had to duck.

It has an interesting design of brake shields.

The buildings fit perfectly into the frame, and the photo turns out rich.
