About the peaks of the Caucasus. Uazakhoh

Uazakhoh (3529 m) is a very interesting peak in the Rocky Range, in North Ossetia, in the Digoria region (on the map), is a 100-meter rock tower on a relatively flat ridge.

A winter view from afar. In the center is the Uazakhokh tower, and to the right is a more distant rocky ridge with Mount Borovtsek.

Closer, from the ascent to the Uaz Shoulder pass.

View of the mountains of Ossetia and clouds almost from the foot of the Uazakhoh tower (left).

Winter. Our bivouac near Uazakhoh. You can see traces of our attempt to reach the summit (we failed due to the icy rocks).

Panorama in the evening after sunset. It was a great place to spend the night, but a bit chilly 🙂

Roughly the same view during the day. On the left is Uazakhoh and our bivouac on the ridge. Clickable!

These are other peaks in the Uaza Range: Saldarikhokh and Muldzugi-Barzond. The old geological road leading up to Uazakhokh is visible.

The peaks of Borovtsek (also known as Rocky Ridge) and Uazakhoh.

Here, on the left, you can see other peaks of the Rocky Ridge, stretching into the distance. Some of them will be covered in separate posts.

Uazakhokh from the north, here is the easiest route up, which we failed to do in winter as part of a 2nd category difficulty hike.

Near the Uazakhoh tower there are rock fingers like these.
