Obergurgl is called the "Diamond of the Alps." Unlike bustling Sölden, it's much quieter and more intimate. The village is located at an altitude of 1930 meters in the Ötztal Alps. Its population is only 400, but it welcomes thousands of tourists every year. We noticed that this resort is very popular with Germans and Dutch tourists.

The Festkoglbahn cable car is located at the very entrance to Obergurgl. There's also a huge parking lot there, essentially the only one here. The rest are owned by hotels and shops.

A six-person gondola takes you to an altitude of 2,650 meters. The station is called Festkogl Alm.

Obergurgl is considered a resort for experienced skiers, but there are still several good blue runs, wide and well-groomed. And considering there's less of a rush here than in Sölden on the Giggijoch massif, skiing is a pleasure.

At the summit is the Quattro Festkoglbahn restaurant, which opened in December 2013 in collaboration with Audi. While my husband explored the new slopes, my baby and I sat on the open, sunny terrace. Danya slept, and I took photos.
Here's a couple of skiers relaxing after skiing. Isn't it wonderful to relax and enjoy such a mountain view after a busy day?

The restaurant's interior is typical Alpine style, cozy and homey.

Although Obergurgl doesn't have the same variety of slopes as Sölden, my husband really liked it here.

I already know who will teach my son to snowboard;)

The Obergurgl ski area is open from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Snow is guaranteed here from October to April. In addition to the slopes, there are cross-country ski trails and a huge toboggan run. This is located in the neighboring village of Hochgurgl.

While we were going down, I took this photo - two cabins in love;))
