Hurricane Irma, which formed in the Atlantic Ocean, has weakened to Category 4 on the Saffir-Simpson scale, the US National Hurricane Center reported, Interfax-Tourism reports.

Irma made landfall in the Bahamas on Friday and is expected to reach the US state of Florida this weekend.
Earlier, the French meteorological service noted that Irma had already become a hurricane, the longest time it had maintained the highest level of power—category five—on the Saffir-Simpson scale.
