Starting November 1, the French Consulate General in Moscow will issue Schengen visas guaranteed within 48 hours. This was announced by Consul General Marc Sediy.
According to the Consul General, most of the visas – 75% are issued in Moscow, so the documents are processed in two days, This primarily concerns the Russian capital. In the regions, the time it takes to obtain a French Schengen visa depends on the passport's delivery to Moscow and back. As M. Sediy stated, the consulate is working closely with the VFS visa center operator and is working to reduce the document delivery time.
As a reminder, at the end of July, Prime Minister Edouard Philippe announced a reduction in the processing time for tourist visas for Russians to 48 hours. Currently, the processing time for a French Schengen visa ranges from 5 to 14 days.
A mobile biometrics service was introduced on June 27, allowing tourists to provide fingerprints for a visa application wherever they choose. The service is available for ordering on the visa application center website. It costs €150 for one passport. For two passports, mobile biometrics costs €270. It's important to note that this service can only be performed in an office or conference room, as home fingerprinting is prohibited.
