Tables and chairs will be placed on the streets of Prague for weary tourists and locals, reports Prague.TV.
For the third year in a row, Prague is implementing the Prague Chair and Tables project, which will see tables and chairs placed throughout the city. According to the mayor of the Czech capital, According to Adriana Krnacheva, in many parts of the city, the only places people can sit down after a long walk are restaurants or cafes. City authorities intend to address this problem by equipping over 60 seating areas in Prague with tables and chairs. As the mayor noted, last season, public furniture was placed near the Emmaus Monastery, the Botanical Garden, and the National Gallery. This year, more such seating areas will be added.
As Prague.TV reports, if tables and chairs are not chained, people are free to move them into the shade or arrange them in a circle to sit in a group.
Local authorities are inviting civic associations, private organizations, and cultural institutions to join the project to increase the number of areas with free access to chairs and tables.
In 2018, recreation areas will be equipped at Senovažná and Malostranská squares, the National Theatre square, the Klánovice city beach, near the Clementinum architectural and historical complex, in Klamovka Park, Old Town Square, the park on Charles Square, Jungmanovo Square, and many other places.
