High season begins at the Krasnaya Polyana resorts in Sochi.

Sochi's mountain resorts are opening their slopes to winter skiers, Interfax reports.

The ski season will begin in the coming days at Krasnaya Polyana resorts. On Friday, December 15, a new cable car will be launched at Rosa Khutor. "Daphne," along with 8 km of new ski trails, will open. This brings the ski area's length to 102 km. The resort's press service notes that this season, the night ski area will double in size, and two snow parks with ski jumps and ski jumps will open. Rosa Khutor will also open a new hotel this coming season, complete with a thermal area and an outdoor heated pool overlooking the Pseashkho Ridge.

Gazprom Ski Resort plans to officially open the ski season on December 23rd. Test runs on blue (H, H1) and green (I, C, E) slopes will begin on December 15th. Gorki Gorod Ski Resort opened its season on December 2nd. However, for now, only the red and black slopes in the Circus-2 and Circus-3 zones, located at an altitude of over 2,000 meters above sea level, are available to skiers and snowboarders. The blue slopes, located at an altitude of 1,500 meters above sea level, will open this coming weekend.

As a reminder, a one-day ski pass at Rosa Khutor costs 1,425 rubles for an adult. A one-day ski pass at Gorki Gorod and Gazprom costs 1,500 and 1,600 rubles, respectively.

Temperatures are currently above zero at the Krasnaya Polyana resorts. Cloudy temperatures are +3°C at an altitude of 960 meters, and +5°C at 1,600 meters, with no precipitation. Winds are southeasterly and easterly. Snow depth at elevations above 2,000 meters reaches 166 cm, and at 1,600 meters, 130 meters.
