Cucumber elections and fortune telling will be held in Vladimir region

The 18th International Cucumber Festival will take place in Suzdal this weekend, according to the event's official website.

This year, the festival, beloved by residents and visitors of the Vladimir region, will be dedicated not only to the oldest vegetable crop, but also The FIFA World Cup. The festival will be divided into several parts. During the day, on July 14th and 15th, the main festival events will take place at the Suzdal Museum of Wooden Architecture, and from 7:00 PM to 1:00 AM, the Suzdal Kremlin will host "Cucumber Night" as part of the Cucumber Festival.

The daytime program for the Saturday portion of the festival includes a large carnival procession, workshops on making an ancient pickling amulet, cucumber elections, cucumber fortune telling to predict the winner of the World Cup, a large cucumber Tetris game, and a real football tournament. A spectacular show program will unfold on the festival's main stage, featuring musical guests from around the world, the Rusichi warriors, and stars of famous television shows. The festival will also feature tastings, where you can sample a wide variety of dishes made with your favorite vegetable, including, of course, pickled cucumbers.

In the evening, the festival will seamlessly move to the Suzdal Kremlin, where a gathering with renowned musicians, artists, and performers will take place, dubbed "Cucumber Night." Guests will also be able to participate in the intellectual game "What's a Cucumber Got to Do with It?" and try to find the "Suzdal Treasure." On Sunday, festivalgoers will be treated to Garden Volleyball, Pickle Battle, Vegetable Crossfit, and other activities in honor of the festival's symbol. The event will culminate, as strange as it may sound, with the signing of an international agreement between cucumbers.

The Cucumber Festival awaits guests on Saturday from 10:00 AM and on Sunday from 11:00 AM to 2:25 PM. Tickets to the Museum of Wooden Architecture cost 500 rubles, and to the Suzdal Kremlin, 300 rubles. Tickets are available at all ticket offices of the Vladimir-Suzdal Museum-Reserve.
