A luxury Atlantis hotel with a water park and the world's largest outdoor aquarium has opened in the resort city of Sanya on Hainan Island, China.
The construction of the resort hotel cost investors US$1.6 billion. It covers 540,000 square meters and offers guests 1,314 rooms, including 154 suites. Five luxury rooms are located underwater, reports AsiaTravelTips, as is the resort's first underwater restaurant.
Aquaventure Waterpark, located at the Atlantis Sanya Hotel, is themed around the myth of the lost continent of Atlantis. Visitors can enjoy thrilling water rides and an open-air aquarium with an observation deck.
Atlantis Sanya features 21 restaurants and bars, as well as the Ahava Spa. Rates at the new hotel start from $242 per night.
