The French capital topped the list of cities suitable for a healthy holiday. Paris has more than 894 spas scattered throughout the city. And while most tourists think more about classic French cuisine during their trip, the study shows that the city is home to more than 1,305 vegan restaurants and more than 150 health food stores.

The Thai city of Chiang Mai came in second, with an average of seven spas per square kilometre and 307 vegetarian restaurants. Barcelona rounded out the top three. The Spanish city has 350 restaurants, 510 spas and 32 yoga and Pilates studios open to residents and visitors.

Providing services such as gyms, fitness classes in hotels, and a variety of menu options in restaurants are all great ways to boost the appeal of cities and regions to health-conscious travellers.
