Ver.di, one of Germany's largest trade unions, is holding another airport strike on April 10. The airports most affected by the strike are Munich, Frankfurt, Cologne, and Bremen, with Berlin and Düsseldorf airports being hit to a lesser extent. The strike led to the cancellation of several flights, including those to Russia, Travel.ru's own correspondent reports.
Specifically, Aeroflot cancelled flights from Moscow to Frankfurt on April 10 at 8:00 a.m. and back at 11:25 a.m., to Munich at 7:40 p.m. and back at 11:20 p.m. Lufthansa cancelled flights from Munich to Moscow at 11:20 a.m. and back at 8:40 a.m., from Munich to St. Petersburg at 11:50 a.m. and back at 5:45 a.m., and from Frankfurt to St. Petersburg at 1:00 p.m. and back at 6:00 p.m. Delays or cancellations of other flights are also possible.
Airlines are offering passengers on cancelled flights the option to fly on remaining scheduled flights or receive a full refund. Lufthansa is also offering passengers on cancelled domestic German flights the option of traveling by rail instead. Tickets for this travel can be obtained at Lufthansa self-service check-in kiosks.
