Aeroflot Airlines intends to completely transfer all flights operated by its subsidiary Rossiya Airlines from Vnukovo to Sheremetyevo. The transition will take place on October 28. The exception will be Rossiya Airlines flights from St. Petersburg, which will continue to operate to Vnukovo with increased frequency, reports Travel.ru.
Furthermore, Rossiya Airlines' own flights to Vnukovo will likely remain, serving only resort destinations for which Aeroflot does not sell tickets. The rescheduling of Aeroflot's Rossiya flights is still ongoing, but its rough outline is already visible.
In addition to the Far Eastern routes, whose transfer has already been widely reported, most other destinations currently served by Rossiya Airlines under Aeroflot's code from Vnukovo will also be transferred to Sheremetyevo starting October 28. However, significantly fewer flights are currently scheduled from Sheremetyevo than currently operate from Vnukovo.
Specifically, only one flight to Rostov-on-Don is currently scheduled instead of the current two (departure from Sheremetyevo at 10:55, return at 13:45; tickets are not yet on sale), and only one to Krasnodar (departure at 11:00, return at 14:10; tickets are on sale). The flight to Mineralnye Vody will completely replace Aeroflot's existing overnight flight (departure at 1:55, return at 7:55; tickets are on sale). There will still be two Rossiya flights to Orenburg (from Sheremetyevo at 0:50 and 18:15, returning at 6:05 and 8:15, tickets are on sale now), but the number of Aeroflot flights has been reduced from three to two for the winter. As we previously reported, two Rossiya flights per day have been scheduled to Simferopol (along with four Aeroflot flights).
All these flights are operated by Boeing 737s, although Airbus A319s were the primary aircraft operating from Vnukovo. Fares are largely identical to Aeroflot's. Rossiya Airlines' flights to Sochi and Kazan, operated by Aeroflot, are not yet included in the schedule. As a reminder, Rossiya Airlines' flight schedule from St. Petersburg to Vnukovo has also been revised, with the number of flights increased, all of which are operated by Airbus A319s based in St. Petersburg.
Rossiya Airlines flights will operate from Sheremetyevo-3 (D), whose domestic sector is expected to become somewhat more spacious after October 28th—all of Aeroflot's domestic flights are scheduled to be transferred to the new Sheremetyevo-1 (B) by that time. In addition to Rossiya Airlines, Nordwind Airlines, Pegasfly, and Ural Airlines will continue to operate domestic routes from Sheremetyevo-3 (D). Connections between Rossiya Airlines and Aeroflot domestic flights at Sheremetyevo will therefore require a change of terminal and take at least an hour and a half.
