The operator Fraport Greece has presented its plans for the development of the international airport of the resort of Kavala. It is expected that more than 10 million euros will be invested in the project, ACI EUROPE reports.
General Director of Fragor Greece Alexander Zinell stated in particular: "I am pleased to announce that the development of the Kavala Airport Megas Alexandros modernization project will soon begin. Within one year, Fraport Greece will completely rebuild the existing airport and significantly improve the passenger experience. The city of Kavala is an important crossroads of civilizations and a gateway to some of the most popular destinations in Greece."
The airport expansion includes upgrading the existing terminal, installing a modern baggage handling system, and renovating and enlarging the fire station.
"Our investment in remodeling and expanding the airport by 2,000 square meters will exceed 10 million euros. By 2019, the airport will be able to offer modern amenities to passengers and ensure sufficient capacity until 2026 and beyond," Zinell added.
