Russians are perhaps the most spontaneous travelers in the world. This fact was once again confirmed by experts from the online travel service Skyscanner, summing up the results for 2017.
According to Skyscanner, on average, Russian travelers buy airline tickets a month in advance. the start of the trip. And every third person - in the last week. At the same time, over the past year, the share of those whose departure date coincides with the date of purchase has increased by one and a half times.
Russians book only distant and exotic destinations in advance. In 2017, the early booking record holders were Madagascar, Brazil and New Zealand. Our tourists bought tickets there more than 100 days in advance.
The most spontaneous are the countries of the former Soviet Union. Thus, 39% last minute bookings were made to Latvia, 35% to Lithuania, 33% to Estonia. Belarus, Armenia and Tajikistan were also in the top.
According to TURIZM, the average depth of airline ticket sales in all countries of the world is 53 days.
