Last Thursday, December 19, the first flight from the UK arrived at Sharm El Sheikh International Airport with 110 passengers on board after the UK lifted the ban on direct commercial flights to Sharm El Sheikh.
"In light of the fact that The political leadership is committed to strengthening and deepening relations with various countries around the world, and recently, bilateral relations between Egypt and the UK have become a positive development, especially after the UK government's decision to resume direct flights to the city of Sharm El-Sheikh. Today, the first direct flight of the British company Inter Air from Birmingham arrived at Sharm El-Sheikh Airport with 110 passengers on board," the Egyptian Ministry of Civil Aviation reported on its official Facebook page.
In addition, in the message, the Minister of Civil Aviation of the Arab Republic of Egypt Younis al-Masri noted that all airports in the country apply all necessary security measures, support international standards, and work to improve all services provided to customers and passengers. In addition, work is also underway to develop, modernize, improve efficiency, and strengthen security systems.
“The Ministry of Civil Aviation seeks cooperation and coordination with all relevant ministries and bodies to increase tourism flow from/to Egypt, as the aviation sector is one of the most important sectors of the national economy,” the minister added.
Let us recall that on October 22 it became known that Great Britain lifted the ban on direct commercial flights to Sharm El Sheikh.
In addition, we note that earlier, Deputy Head of the Russian Foreign Ministry Mikhail Bogdanov reported that Russian specialists could check Egyptian airports for security before the end of 2019.
