On July 31, 2018, Sheremetyevo International Airport received the first flight from Hangzhou (China) of Beijing Capital Airlines.

Regular direct flights on the new route Hangzhou - Moscow - Hangzhou will operate three times a week on Tuesdays (arrival at 15:20 Moscow time, departure 5:20 PM Moscow time, Thursdays (arrival at 3:00 PM Moscow time, departure at 5:10 PM Moscow time), and Saturdays (arrival at 3:05 PM Moscow time, departure at 5:20 PM Moscow time). The airline's passengers are served in Terminal F. Flights are operated on the wide-body Airbus A330-200.
Hangzhou became the 19th destination on the route network to China from Sheremetyevo. The airport is the only one in Europe to serve eight leading Chinese airlines and ranks first globally for transfers between China and Europe. In the first half of 2018, passenger traffic between Sheremetyevo and China exceeded 1 million, an increase of 131,000 passengers compared to the same period last year.
