A mummy museum has opened in the town of Quinto, located in northeastern Spain, 40 kilometers from Zaragoza. It is housed in the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin (Parroquia de la Asunción de Nuestra Señora), as all the exhibits were found during archaeological excavations beneath the church.
In 2011, excavations uncovered numerous human remains buried in the 18th and 19th centuries. Some bodies were naturally mummified. Experts attribute this to the soil conditions and stable temperature conditions in Quinto, according to Euro-Pulse.ru. These mummies are now on display at the museum. Visitors will also be able to see numerous items preserved in the graves, including jewelry, clothing, shoes, and more.
