Etihad Airways has extended its program of providing free overnight stays in Abu Dhabi hotels for transit passengers staying for more than 24 hours at its base airport until the end of the year. Transit passengers can count on two free nights in high-quality hotels, according to Travel.ru's own correspondent.
The project was originally scheduled to last for over two months, until July 15. Now, the program has been extended to cover travel through December 31, with tickets required to be purchased no later than December 1. The carrier explained this decision by the widespread popularity of the new offer. Furthermore, the program now includes one-way tickets. It appears to also include tickets purchased through agents, not just those purchased directly from the airline—however, the carrier's website contains conflicting information on this matter.
The promotion applies to all transit flights via Abu Dhabi on Etihad Airways, with the itinerary beginning and ending outside the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Tickets must be purchased between April 7 and December 1 (using the "combined itinerary" option on the Etihad Airways website) for travel until December 31. Tickets purchased with Etihad Guest miles, business tickets, and similar tickets are excluded from the offer.
A single booking can provide free overnight stays for up to two passengers, at least one of whom must be at least 21 years old. For larger groups, it's recommended to book separate flights. Keep in mind that the price of the flight itself may increase slightly when including a stopover in Abu Dhabi, but this increase will generally be less than the savings on the hotel.
Hotel reservations can only be made online via a special link on the Etihad Airways website, at least 96 hours before arrival in Abu Dhabi and no later than December 1. Hotel stays are permitted until December 31, excluding local holidays (e.g., June 4-9). A free overnight stay is only valid for one-way travel (either outbound or return). It's best to book as early as possible due to limited availability.
If your flight is cancelled, your hotel reservation must be cancelled separately at least 7 days before your arrival date, otherwise the full cost will be charged. Transfers between the airport and your hotel in Abu Dhabi are not included. Hotels offered include Crowne Plaza, Marriott, Premier Inn, Le Meridien, Ramada, Radisson, and other chain hotels. One of the hotels is located directly at the airport.
As a reminder, Etihad Airways plans to increase the frequency of flights from Abu Dhabi to Moscow this fall. The company also offers a separate discount program at various establishments in Abu Dhabi upon presentation of a boarding pass for its flights to this city.
