The cost of international flights remained virtually unchanged this winter, at 21,800 rubles. In the winter of 2016-2017, Russians flew international flights for an average of 22,000 rubles roundtrip (0.9% more).
Europe
Prague was the most popular European city among Russian air travelers this winter, accounting for 6.81% of all tickets purchased to Europe. Roundtrip flights to the Czech capital average 22,200 rubles.
Second place went to Munich (4.21 TP3T, 20.8 thousand rubles), third to Berlin (41 TP3T, 16.6 thousand rubles).
Rome saw the biggest price drop among popular European destinations this winter. Flights to the city from Moscow fell by 9.21 TP3T, with round-trip fares now at 22,900 rubles.
Near Abroad
Among destinations within the near abroad, flights from Moscow to Chisinau were the most popular. They accounted for approximately 18.31% of all tickets sold in this segment, with an average roundtrip ticket price of 12,100 rubles.
Yerevan came in second (8.51 TRY, 14,200 rubles). Minsk rounded out the top three (5.81 TRY, 7,900 rubles).
Far abroad
Tel Aviv leads the international travel market. Bookings for this route from Moscow account for 11,51,000 rubles of all tickets sold in this segment. Ticket sales from St. Petersburg to this city account for another 2,91,000 rubles. The average cost of flights to Tel Aviv from Moscow and St. Petersburg is 20,600 rubles and 22,600 rubles, respectively.
Istanbul came in second place in the ranking with flights from Moscow (10.91 TP3T, 15.2 thousand rubles), and Bangkok came in third with departures from the Russian capital (4.11 TP3T, 38.8 thousand rubles).
Where is it cheaper to fly?
Kazan was the most affordable and popular Russian destination. A flight from Moscow costs an average of 5,800 rubles. Rostov-on-Don came in second (5,700 rubles), and Krasnodar third (6,200 rubles).
Among foreign cities, the leaders in terms of price are Minsk (7.9 thousand rubles), Chisinau (12.1 thousand rubles) and Yerevan (12.8 thousand rubles).
