In 2018, Kamchatka was visited by twice as many foreign tourists as the previous year, according to Vice Governor Alexey Voitov, region.

"Based on the results of the first ten months, the number of foreign tourists visiting Kamchatka has almost doubled. For the whole of 2017 "Last year, 13,920 people visited the peninsula, and in the first ten months of this year, that number has already reached 24,635. A significant increase of 761,000. Most of them arrived in Kamchatka on cruise ships," Voitov said, according to TASS.
He also noted that the largest number of liners called on the peninsula in 2014 and 2015—20 and 18 ships, respectively—and 12 in 2016–2018. Moreover, in 2014, the number of tourists who arrived in the region by liners was 9,578, while in 2018, it was 12,754.
