Kaliningrad beach received the only Blue Flag in Russia.

The only beach in Russia to receive the prestigious Blue Flag environmental label this year was the beach in the village of Yantarny in the Kaliningrad region. This is the third year in a row that the beach has been awarded the flag.

According to Interfax, in 2017, 3,600 beaches and 677 harbors in 45 countries were awarded the Blue Flag. All of these beaches are eligible to display Blue Flags, which attest to the high quality of their coastal waters, the cleanliness of their surroundings, and the availability of infrastructure for a comfortable and safe vacation.

The beach in Yantarny is over 500 meters long and up to 300 meters wide in some places. Village authorities note that there is another beach nearby that is equally good.
