Leonid Isakovich is recognized as the most successful entrepreneur in TravelTech

The Rubase portal has published a list of the twenty most successful businessmen in the TravelTech sector. The ranking is based on 2018 business turnover data and expert assessments. Leonid Isakovich, founder of Akademservice, tops the list.

 

 

Academservice's revenue in 2018 amounted to 5.1 billion rubles. For 30 years, Academservice has been providing a wide range of hotel and tourism services across various sectors of the tourism industry, serving as a B2B booking system, an inbound tour operator, and an organizer of various MICE events. The tour operator was one of the first in the Russian market to create its own B2B online booking system, acase.ru, for agencies and corporate clients. The acase.ru booking system features over 4,500 hotels in 700 cities across Russia and neighboring countries. Academservice provides services to over 10,000 of its agents, business travel companies, and corporate clients through its online platform.

As a reminder, this year Akademservice won one of the most prestigious international tourism awards, the World Travel Awards, in the category of World Leading Entertainment Travel Management Company.

Second place in the list of successful entrepreneurs goes to Max Kraynov, head of Aviasales and Travelpayouts. Third place goes to Denis Matyukhin, head of Aeroclub.

According to Rubase, analysts are reporting unprecedented growth in the online travel market. According to Data Insight, from 2014 to 2019, the eTravel market (online sales of travel services) nearly tripled to 1,030 billion rubles. In 2018, growth was 251 billion rubles, and in 2019, 201 billion rubles.
