An outbreak of chickenpox has been recorded in the Dominican Republic, Interfax reports, citing the Russian Foreign Ministry's Situation and Crisis Center (DSCC).

"Dominican Republic – Chickenpox outbreak; more than 3,000 cases confirmed," the Dominican Republic's Department of Disease Control and Prevention (DSCC) tweeted.
The Dominican Republic is a popular beach holiday destination for Russian tourists. Russia ranks third among European countries, after France and Germany, in terms of tourist flow to the Dominican Republic. From January to March, 58,600 Russians visited the republic.
