Residence tax in Turkey is abolished

Turkish President Recep Erdogan has rejected the law on the so-called residence tax, adopted by the republic's parliament. This was reported by the administration of the head of Turkey.

 

 

According to the text of the statement, the document was sent back for revision because the Turkish leader considered the introduction of a residence tax inappropriate.

Let us recall that earlier, at the end of November, the Turkish parliament adopted the law on accommodation tax in the final reading. It was expected that in 2020 the tax would amount to 1% of the total cost of accommodation and additional services, including SPA, food, etc. At the same time, in 2021 the amount of the fee will increase to 2%. However, the final word on this issue remained with the country's president.
