Russian Railways will restore the Samara-Kazan train.

Russian Railways plans to resume service between Samara and Kazan. Train #126/125 will run daily starting December 9, according to Travel.ru.

Departure from Samara at 20:26, arrival in Kazan at 06:20. Return departure at 21:20, arrival in Samara at 08:40. The train is expected to consist of at least 5 compartment cars and 3 reserved seat cars.

Compartment tickets currently start at 1,477 rubles for upper berths and 2,046 rubles for lower berths. A reserved seat costs 1,158 rubles (upper side berths cost 750 rubles).

A similar train was once cancelled due to low demand, and now rail service between Samara and Kazan is virtually nonexistent. Various buses take about five hours and cost around 1,000 rubles.
