Roskomnadzor inspected VFS Global visa centers for violations of Russian laws.

Roskomnadzor conducted inspections at VFS Global visa centers to verify the company's compliance with the law on personal data. A corresponding notice was published on the agency's website.

“In connection with media publications about the activities "Roskomnadzor conducted an express assessment of the legality of the processing of personal data of Russian citizens by the international visa center VFS operating in the Russian Federation (VFS Services LLC)," Roskomnadzor stated, explaining that VFS Services LLC's activities are subject to international visa support agreements and are carried out on the basis of contracts concluded with diplomatic missions. Russian law provides the legal basis for this type of personal data processing.

However, no violations were discovered: VFS Global provided Roskomnadzor with the necessary information about the measures taken to ensure the privacy and security of the personal data processed by Russian tourists.

"The cross-border transfer of Russian citizens' data primarily occurs to countries that provide adequate protection for personal data. Therefore, there are no instances of VF Services LLC violating the rights and legitimate interests of Russian citizens in the area of personal data," the agency concluded.
