The tensions in Russian-British relations will not affect Russian citizens' ability to travel to the UK; visas to Russians will continue to be issued as usual. The press service of the British Embassy in Russia reported this on its Facebook page.
"We are receiving many requests from Russian citizens for UK visas amid heightened political tensions between the two countries. We would like to officially confirm that the visa application and review process for Russian citizens remains unchanged. Last year, 961,330 applications from Russian citizens were approved," the diplomats said in a statement.
According to the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR), there has been no decline in demand for trips to the UK, and no cancellations of existing tours have been observed. Russian tourists are applying for visas at visa centers as usual, receiving tourist visas for six months or two years in most cases.
