Today, January 16, the "Selfie in a Museum" flash mob is taking place in various countries around the world as part of Museum Selfie Day, Travel.ru reports. As with last year, numerous Russian museums will also join the event.
The idea of the flash mob is to popularize such a leisure activity as visiting a museum. Visitors take photos with exhibits and post their selfies on social media. The hashtags #MuseumSelfie and #MuseumSelfieDay are encouraged. Some museums even announce a contest for the best selfie with their favorite exhibit, while others extend the event for several days.
True, not all museums in the world allow selfie sticks, so sometimes you'll have to take photos the old-fashioned way.
