How much do Russian tourists spend on vacation in Turkey?

The Association of Mediterranean Travel Companies (AKTOB) conducted a study on the "Russian Travel Market," which found that, on average, Russians spend just over 600 euros on a vacation in Turkey.

 

 

According to WTTC, which According to the newspaper Hurriyet Seyahat, Russians spent approximately $35 billion on international travel in 2018. The WTTC study reached a logical conclusion: affluent Russian tourists vacationing in Turkey overwhelmingly choose five-star hotels, while budget travelers prefer three- and four-star hotels.

As the publication notes, the average age of a Russian tourist is 38, and their average vacation time is 9-12 days. Russian tourists are known for their high standards, love of expensive goods, and lack foreign language skills.

"For three years running, Russia has maintained its leading position in the number of tourists arriving in Turkey. In the first half of 2018, 2.3 million Russians arrived in Turkey, 401,033 more than in the same period in 2017. In all of 2018, 6 million Russian tourists visited Turkey, compared to 4.72 million in 2017," reports Hurriyet Seyahat.
