Skyscanner: Russians dream of traveling more often

Skyscanner, a website for searching for flights, hotels, and car rentals, surveyed Russian travelers and found that most would be happy to have the opportunity to vacation and travel more often.

More than half of respondents (57%) admit that would like to travel more often, but the price of air tickets influences their frequency of travel—95% Russians cited this as a key factor, the company's press service told Travel Russian News.

Although air travel prices are determined by the market, airlines may reduce prices on specific destinations due to competition from other players, as well as during their own promotions. Furthermore, independent travelers have access to a variety of tools to help them find great deals and save on airfare. The easiest way is to track all current discounts (from 30% and up) on flights from Russian cities to destinations worldwide on a single page, updated hourly.

Another way to cut ticket costs is to vary your search queries. "If you know your upcoming travel dates but aren't tied to a specific country," comments Dmitry Khavansky, Skyscanner's Development Manager for Russia, "you can use 'Search Everywhere' to see all possible flight options worldwide, starting with the cheapest. Or, conversely, search for the most attractive ticket prices to your desired country without entering specific dates (search by month). And, of course, don't forget about connecting flights—they're on average 30-40% cheaper than direct flights."
