"Children cannot be abandoned," say the initiators of the "Find Captain Grant!" Charity Evening. On January 23, the "Chinese Pilot Zhao Da" club in Moscow will host the next Charity Evening as part of the "Tourism Business with an Open Heart" campaign.

“Is it possible to experience greater joy, to bring greater benefit, than by saving the unfortunate?”
“After all, children can’t be abandoned!”
These words will be spoken On January 23, at the Moscow club "Chinese Pilot Zhao Da" Performers of excerpts from Jules Verne's novel "The Children of Captain Grant" at an evening as part of the charity event "Tourism Business with an Open Heart," the goal of which is to support terminally ill children, wards of the Children's Hospice "House with a Lighthouse."
This time, money will be raised for two-year-old Ksyusha Savva, a girl with a congenital disorder of the central nervous system, a genetic mutation. Ksyusha has been unable to laugh or cry since birth and is fed through a gastrostomy tube, which is very costly for her family. It is for her that the fundraising event, dubbed "Find Captain Grant!"—that's right, with an exclamation point. Why? Because "...children can't be abandoned!" Ksyusha and her family are being assisted by a Children's Hospice. The hospice's beneficiaries (previously 8-year-old Karim, 18-year-old Sasha, and 3-year-old Sonya) are participants in the "Tourism Business with an Open Heart" campaign, which has already attracted representatives of the Russian tourism industry and a number of foreign embassies and travel agencies.
Preliminary fundraising for Ksyusha only began in December. But it has already raised over 65,000 rubles. This is largely thanks to the National Association of Event Tourism Specialists, the organizers of the "Talents of the Tour Business" concert, the company "Bureau 29/02," and the organizers of the "Alexey Paperny +1" concert at the Chinese Pilot Zhao Da, who supported the campaign. However, Ksyusha needs 300,000 rubles to live on for a year.
“We would like to fill our evening ‘Find Captain Grant!’ with romance, tenderness, love for children – both healthy and sick; for those who are looking, like the heroes of the novel, for their missing father, and for those who are fighting for every day of their lives on a ventilator or in other very difficult circumstances,” says Konstantin Isaakov, coordinator of the charity event "Tourism Business with an Open Heart". "Every child needs love and support. And the little ones at the Lighthouse need it especially."
The program includes not only excerpts from the novel and songs from the Soviet film “Children of Captain Grant” (1936) with music by Isaak Dunaevsky.
Some of the book's dramatic events take place in the Cordillera Mountains, the rugged natural landscapes of Patagonia, Argentina, and Chile. How to organize a trip to these exotic places will be discussed. South America specialist Alla Filimonova, head of marketing and Latin America department at tour operator Ambotis Holidays. Alla spent more than 10 of her 20 years in tourism focused on Latin America, serving as Development Director for the Caribbean Club. She also created the Latin America department at Ambotis Holidays, which offers tours to Cuba, Mexico, Brazil, and Argentina.
South America is also renowned as a wine region. The evening's wine sponsor will be Ladoga, a St. Petersburg company, which will treat participants (at the Welcome Drink) to the Chilean wine Tutunjan Single Vineyard Carménère. Carménère has long been a signature grape of Chile. It is often called the "lost grape" of Bordeaux: after a 19th-century epidemic, it disappeared from this French region, but has survived in Chile. It has a rich color, aromas of red berries and fruits, and soft tannins. At the end of the evening, this wine will be available for purchase at an affordable price. Ladoga has been operating in the alcohol market for 20 years, offering customers over 100 beverages from 50 countries. The company partners with numerous charitable events.
Will develop the wine theme unusual Moscow artist Yulia Sokolova. She paints with wine! The "paint," whose color depends on the grape variety, production technology, and aging, has the ability to change over time: it's as if the wine continues to live on the paper. Yulia will be auctioning for Ksyusha a painting created by the same Tutunjan Single Vineyard Carménère especially for this evening, depicting one of Patagonia's most recognizable landscapes. Two more works from the "Flowers" series will be on offer at the end of the evening.
Will hold an auction experienced auctioneer, art critic Lyubov Agafonova, owner of the Moscow gallery "Vellum", The program's creative partner, featuring several rare painting lots, including works by Soviet underground artists, will also feature theater set designs (a sketch for a theater set by Isaac Waldenberg), film posters, and a poster by Dmitry Shagin, one of the founding fathers of the Mitki movement, with his signature. The highlight of the auction will be a pencil drawing by Anatoly Zverev. His entire work is a challenge to philistine "common sense" and the norms of officialdom. Zverev's influence on contemporary painting is incredible. He is a nonconformist artist, a representative of the second wave of the Russian avant-garde. Picasso himself called Zverev "the best Russian draftsman."
The Zolotye Kupola jewelry factory in Pokrov, Vladimir Oblast, will be offering a 9.73-gram sterling silver (925) "Cinderella" brooch from the exclusive "Madame Broshkina" collection, featuring colored and colorless cubic zirconia. The retail price is 16,530 rubles. The starting price is approximately half that.
As per tradition, delicious and beautiful gastronomic items will be auctioned off. These include the chocolate "House with a Lighthouse" by renowned chocolatier Lyubov Ratomskaya and sweet pumpkin rolls with butter cream by Alexandra Isaakova.
And, as usual, the final auction will feature travel lots and super lots. The well-known search engine Aviasales has listed a paid flight for €2,500, which will cover the cost of a trip for two to remote corners of the planet, including exotic Patagonia. Other travel lots will also be up for grabs.
