Tour operator TUI launched the project "Bright winter on Sakhalin 2019/20"

On September 5, as part of the business program of the Eastern Economic Forum, an agreement was signed between the Federal Agency for Tourism of the Russian Federation, the Government of the Sakhalin Region and the tour operator TUI Russia on cooperation in the development of domestic tourism. and inbound tourism and the implementation of the pilot tourism project "Bright Winter on Sakhalin 2019/2020" in the Far Eastern Federal District.

The document was signed by the Head of Rostourism, Zarina Doguzova, the Acting Governor of the Sakhalin Region, Valery Limarenko, and the General Director of TUI Russia, Taras Demura.

"Tourism isn't just a business on Sakhalin and the Kuril Islands. It's primarily the infrastructure of our cities and villages. Together with Rostourism and TT-Travel (TUI Russia), we will promote winter tours to the islands," noted the Acting Governor of Sakhalin.

The purpose of the agreement is to develop tourism in the Far Eastern Federal District, create package tours to the Sakhalin Region during the winter season, and promote and sell island vacation products in the Far East for both Russian and foreign tourists.

Rostourism Director Zarina Doguzova emphasized that the project aims to create a comprehensive tourism product at affordable prices, making vacations on Sakhalin affordable for residents of other Russian regions, and helping attract visitors from other countries.

As part of a pilot project, TUI Russia has already developed package deals for island holidays in the winter season, starting from 40,000 rubles per person for a tour that includes airfare, accommodation in a 3-4* hotel for 4-5 days, a ski pass for the Gorny Vozdukh ski resort, and a basic excursion program. Upon request, the tour program can be expanded to include winter fishing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, dog sledding, and other additional options. Thanks to close collaboration with local tourism businesses and accommodation providers, the final cost of the package will be lower than if you were to plan your trip yourself, booking and paying for each component of the tour separately.

It's also important to note that Aeroflot will be flying regular flights to Sakhalin during the "Bright Winter on Sakhalin" season. The number of flights between Moscow and Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk will double during the winter, further boosting tourism to Sakhalin.

Sales for the pilot island tours are scheduled to begin on October 1, 2019. Tours will be available for booking on the tour operator's website, at all TUI agency offices, and at partner travel agencies.
