Tourist flow from Russia to Abu Dhabi has increased threefold

According to statistics from the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, 2017 will be the most significant year for the Emirate of Abu Dhabi since its presence in the Russian market.

According to data for October of this year, the number of Russians visiting the emirate, The number of Russian tourists increased by 2,251 TP3T from 2,115 to 6,876 people compared to October 2016, and the number of nights over the same period tripled from 9,488 to 28,710. Over the first 10 months of 2017, the total number of Russian tourists reached 29,524 people, which is 751 TP3T more than last year's figures for January-October. The final number of nights for this period this year was 141,625 (+691 TP3T compared to last year).

Positive trends are also observed in other markets. For example, tourist flow to Abu Dhabi from Azerbaijan increased by 681 tourists in October and by 251 tourists in the January-October period; the number of tourists from Georgia almost doubled in the first 10 months of this year (from 1,016 to 1,948 people); and the Baltic countries are actively on the rise – the number of tourists since the beginning of the year has increased by 481 tourists compared to 2016 figures (4,148 tourists from Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia from the beginning of the year through October 2017).

As a reminder, tourists from Russia and the CIS countries remain the leaders in terms of length of stay in the emirate, with stays of at least 5 nights.

The Emirate of Abu Dhabi attracts an increasing number of tourists each year thanks to its ambitious projects and the comfortable vacation options it offers. It's worth noting that this year, Abu Dhabi, the capital of the UAE, was recognized as the safest city in the world, and last month, the Louvre Abu Dhabi museum complex opened in Abu Dhabi, its significance in both cultural and social terms is difficult to overstate. Abu Dhabi will continue to delight its tourists in the near future: next year, a Warner Bros. theme park will open on Yas Island, and the famous Saadiyat Island Reserve will be expanded with several more resorts.
