In Greece, overweight tourists are banned from riding donkeys.

According to the Daily Mail, on the Greek island of Santorini, the Ministry of Agriculture has banned people weighing over 100 kilograms from using horseback riding services.

There have been reports of animals being injured after a trip. spine, bruises and muscle strains. 

Local activists have demanded that authorities begin overseeing the industry, ensuring animals are kept clean, fed regularly, and provided with health care. The exploitation of sick, injured, or pregnant donkeys is also strictly prohibited.
