Club Med ski hotel opens in Japan

Club Med has opened a new ski resort in Hokkaido, Japan's second-largest island. It's located just an hour and a half drive from the new Chitose Airport.

Club Med Tomamu Hokkaido is ideally located on snow-covered slopes, meaning skiers and snowboarders can access the slopes directly from the resort town. French architect Jean-Philippe Nouel created the resort's distinctive atmosphere. Urban aesthetics and elements of all four seasons are evident in the hotel's architecture and design. The hotel complex offers 341 rooms, according to the Club Med press service.

Club Med Tomamu Hokkaido boasts Japan's largest wave pool and its own private beach, Mina Mina Beach, open year-round. Guests can also enjoy traditional Japanese onsen hot baths. Kids' clubs are available for young guests aged 2 to 17. The resort complex features two restaurants, Itara and Haku, as well as The Nest bar.

Not far from the Club Med Tomamu Hokkaido resort town is the Ice Village—a true winter wonderland that will delight both children and adults. It features slides, an ice restaurant, and a bar where even cocktails are served in glasses made of ice. The main attraction is the chapel, where couples can exchange vows within the icy walls.

The cost of staying at Club Med Tomamu Hokkaido varies greatly depending on the season.
