Time-traveling zipline opens in Spain

The Límite Zero zipline, located in southwestern Spain, is the only high-speed descent in the world that allows you to “fly” to another time zone and finish an hour before the start. The zip line runs over the Guadiana River from the Spanish town of Sanlúcar de Guadiana to the Portuguese town of Alcoutim. The descent on the zip line lasts less than a minute, during which time tourists fly at speeds of up to 70 kilometers per hour over the border between the two countries, which runs along the river, and find themselves in a different time zone.

As reported by Spain in Russian, groups of up to eight people are taken by SUVs to a special platform. The cost of a zip line flight is 18 euros per person, which includes all the necessary equipment, including helmets. From the highest point, located 25 meters above the destination, one after another, tourists slide down a 720-meter-long cable and end up on the Portuguese side of the river, where they board a boat that takes them back to Spain.

There are a couple of restrictions: for safety reasons, people weighing more than 110 kilograms and under 14 years of age are not allowed on the zip line.
