Since January 23, Khurba Airport has suspended operations in Komsomolsk-on-Amur due to flight safety violations.

As reported by the press service of the Khabarovsk Krai Government, the airport needs to address flight safety deficiencies, identified by the Federal Air Transport Agency. It is noted that the comments were related to the organization of search, rescue, and firefighting operations.
"In this case, it would be incorrect to say that the airport's certificate has been revoked. The Federal Agency, the Transport Prosecutor's Office, and our ministry have recommended that management rectify the violations. We can do nothing more in this case, as it is a private organization. However, we are closely monitoring the situation. Passengers can contact the airlines for refunds for their tickets in accordance with the established procedure. As of today, Aurora JSC has suspended its Komsomolsk-on-Amur - Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk flight. Khabarovsk Airlines will likely operate direct flights from Khabarovsk without stopping at Khurba Airport. These flights include Chumikan, Bogorodskoye, Kherpuchi, and Nikolaevsk-on-Amur," said Maxim Prokhorov, Acting Minister of Transport and Roads of the Khabarovsk Territory.
As TASS reports, Maxim Prokhorov added that although the airport's occupancy rate is relatively low, it is an important link between Komsomolsk-on-Amur and Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk.
It should be added that flights to the city were operated several times a week by airlines such as Khabarovsk Airlines and Aurora.
