As reported by Free Malaysia Today, the country's Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mohamaddin Ketapi, noted that the selection of schools that will transform to tourist attractions. Although such establishments have boarding houses, tourists could stay overnight in rooms or houses rented by the centers.
The minister also added that this method will strengthen the country's image in Islamic tourism.
Furthermore, Malaysia is also actively developing mosques as tourist attractions. Abdul Hani Daud, CEO of the Islamic Tourism Centre, reported that guidelines are being developed to welcome foreign visitors to mosques so that non-Muslims can visit such religious sites.
