Last year, more than 135,000 tourists from Russia visited Croatia.

In 2018, 135,300 tourists from Russia visited Croatia, 21,300 more than the previous year, according to Rajko Ružička, head of the Russian representative office of the Croatian Tourist Board.

“Last year was difficult for tourism due to the 2018 World Cup. Nobody “I didn’t expect Russia and Croatia to go so far; it felt like more Croatians came to Russia than vice versa,” he said, according to Interfax.

He also noted that tourist flow from Russia to Croatia increased by 40%. The most popular types of tourism are family and beach tourism. Most Russians (80%) come in the summer, while 70% go to the resorts in Kvaner Bay.

"Furthermore, Croatia is a country of ecotourism, the only one in the world where roads are washed with drinking water. It is home to seven UNESCO World Heritage sites, which also attract tourists," he added.
