The Alps are closer: direct flights from Kazan to Club Med resorts

Aeroflot will launch a special flight connecting Kazan and the Club Med Alpine resorts.

Alpine skiing and snowboarding remain attractive to Russians, even during the economic crisis. Tourist flows from Tatarstan to the "Alpine Four"—Italy, France, Austria and Switzerland have seen a significant increase. Club Med is actively working to attract visitors from the republic. For example, in January 2017, with the support of the Atout France agency, Club Med organized an informational trip to the Alps for local travel agencies. Last year, 800 residents of Tatarstan visited the company's resorts, and in 2018, an increase of 201,000 is expected. Last New Year's, a direct flight from Kazan to Grenoble was launched for the first time. This winter, residents of the republic will also be able to take advantage of direct flights to Club Med's Alpine resorts.

Since 1956, Club Med's ski offerings have been unparalleled in the market. Since its inception, Club Med has opened 20 resorts in the Alps, one each in Japan and China. In December 2017, Club Med Grand Massif Samoens Morillon, the 21st resort in the French Alps, will open its doors. Ski passes and lessons with the professional team of instructors from the French Ski School ESF are included in the price. Equipment can be reserved and children can be enrolled in ski lessons in advance using the Easy Arrival service. In addition to skiing, winter enthusiasts will appreciate snowboarding, sledding, and extreme sports such as slalom and ski cross.

According to recent research, 20% tourists from Tatarstan come exclusively for skiing. While the number of clients choosing active, sporty holidays is still lower than those who enjoy basking in the sun, Kazan has recently become one of Russia's leading sports centers, and the popularity of active recreation is growing every year.

While Tatarstan residents previously chose warmer climates partly because of the availability of direct flights, the advent of a direct Kazan-Grenoble flight has increased the number of reasons to choose the snowy Alps.

Furthermore, demand for comprehensive leisure options is growing. This is precisely what Club Med specializes in – a leader in premium all-inclusive vacations and a trendsetter in ski holidays. Everything is thought out down to the last detail: accommodation in superb rooms or private chalets, haute cuisine prepared by top French chefs, and a comprehensive program of entertainment and activities for adults and children aged 4 months to 17 years.

Incidentally, the traditional winter route – the Alps – is also relevant in the summer season, offering tourists an almost wider choice of sports activities: hiking, trekking, mountain biking, rafting, rock climbing, acrobatics, and Nordic walking.
