The "Creative Boulevard" art project is a unique event held as part of City Day. For many years, this project has attracted over 100,000 people to the city's central streets. On the day of Cheboksary's 548th anniversary, residents and visitors were able to fully enjoy the city's vibrant arts scene. enjoy street performance.
More than 70 creative, sports, and retail spaces lined Lenin Avenue and Karl Marx Street. The "Creative Boulevard" created an unforgettable festive atmosphere, with every city resident able to find something of interest. The boulevard stretched over 3 kilometers.
The boulevard's guests of honor included Mikhail Ignatiev, Head of the Chuvash Republic; Valery Filimonov, Chairman of the State Council of the Chuvash Republic; Leonid Cherkesov, Deputy of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation; Nikolai Vladimirov, Acting Head of Cheboksary; and Alexey Ladykov, Head of the Cheboksary City Administration.
The "Creative Boulevard" art project is gaining momentum every year, attracting more and more new friends. This year, the festival featured artists from Moscow. The street theater "Vysokie Bratya & Tall Brothers" was undoubtedly the highlight of the event. This team of circus and dramatic actors presented "Duratsky TsYrk" (Stupid Circus) to Cheboksary residents and visitors. This interactive clown show is marvelous in its simplicity. Juggling, unicycle balancing, balancing on a free-standing ladder, contact clowning, and other "death-defying" acts captivated the boulevard's guests.
Another surprise was a parade by Russia's finest drummers, the band "Vasilev Groov." The musicians walked along the boulevard and then performed a major concert program on Red Square.
Boulevard visitors had the opportunity to immerse themselves in virtual and augmented reality, see various robot models, and participate in a mobile app development workshop.
A lounge area was set up in the park near the National Library, allowing guests to read, relax, and enjoy the exciting activities of the Literary Festival, a book exhibition, and meetings with writers and poets. The "Lungs of the Volga" area also featured training sessions on pine planting, wielding the Kolesov Sword, and posing for photos in forest firefighting gear.
One of the most unusual venues was the "Modern Chuvash Beauty" art project. Visitors to the boulevard were treated to a vibrant performance from a team of professionals: makeup artists, a hairstylist, an eyebrow artist, a florist, and a photographer. This time, the boulevard was filled with a variety of street cafes offering sweets, drinks, fast food, and pies.
Interactive areas with giant board games, face painting, workshops, a mini-play area for children, a concert program with contests and gifts, entertainers, performances by creative groups, a fashion theater, a bubble show, and a pavement painting contest—these are just a few of the activities that captivated young Cheboksary residents.
Residents and guests were introduced to Ecuadorian culture and heard live performances of South American Indian music.
Folk art enthusiasts attended fascinating master classes, where masters of decorative and applied arts and fine arts taught them how to make unique souvenirs from a wide variety of materials and paint landscapes.
Families were offered the amazing opportunity to participate in the "Cherry Orchard – Welcomes Families" campaign and plant a family tree. They also had the opportunity to experience the world of cinema from the inside and try their hand at being a film director, cameraman, producer, screenwriter, actor, editor, or sound engineer.
At Republic Square, in the "vegetable garden" park, visitors to the boulevard enjoyed a unique take on the familiar family festival "Design Fest." It featured a design market featuring products from the city's best artisans, an area for engaging creative workshops, and a food court hosted by a Moscow chef, where guests could sample signature dishes like pilaf, shashlik, and a vegetarian menu. Throughout the festival, the city's best DJs performed. There were also raffles, prizes, and plenty of exciting gifts.
The entire Republic Square transformed into a sprawling youth hub—the Chuvash Republic KVN Summer Cup took place on stage, Chuvash State University students performed their best routines from the 2017 Student Festival, a photo booth was set up, and competitions and games were held.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations' fire department invited guests to an exhibition dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. At the #VmesteYarche Energy Saving Festival, guests were invited to sign an energy saving declaration.
Active recreation enthusiasts could try their hand at the climbing wall, immerse themselves in the world of dance at the "Dancing City" venue, play basketball, table tennis, and try yoga and wellness exercises.
The VGTRK platform was particularly popular, offering live broadcasts, birthday celebrations, and participation in various contests and flash mobs.
Creative teams, students, and representatives of city companies and organizations showcased their talents and abilities at numerous interactive venues. Dance and sports groups performed, poets recited poetry, and folk craftsmen presented presentations.
Various activities of the city's arts centers, supplementary education schools, and cultural and leisure institutions were presented at sites along the boulevard.
On City Day, Creative Boulevard once again became a meeting place for talents, emotions, and ideas.
