Finnair and Aeroflot offer discounts on Moscow-Helsinki tickets.

Finnair and Aeroflot have introduced discounted fares for flights from Moscow to Helsinki. Round-trip tickets start at 9,490 rubles for Finnair and 9,601 rubles for Aeroflot, according to Travel.ru.

Finnair has this price available for the entire sales period until the middle of next year. Tickets are non-refundable and non-exchangeable, and the fare includes 23 kilograms of baggage allowance. Please note that purchasing tickets online from Finnair adds an additional 500 rubles to the fee; agents may offer lower prices.

Aeroflot tickets are on sale until August 30, with travel valid until October 28. Ticket returns and fees are non-refundable. Exchanges are possible for a €100 fee and a surcharge up to the current fare. As a reminder, Aeroflot will increase the number of flights to Helsinki starting October 29.

When purchasing any tickets on Aeroflot's website (as with almost all other Russian carriers), keep in mind that the airline includes insurance by default. This practice, prohibited in the European Union, can result in a loss of 300 rubles on each ticket. To avoid falling victim to this insurance scam, in most cases you should uncheck the insurance option (for Aeroflot, it's located on the payment and credit card entry page).

If a passenger has nevertheless fallen into a trap and paid for unnecessary insurance, it can still be cancelled. In this case, before the start of the flight, you should notify the airline about the cancellation of the insurance service and demand a refund for the insurance.
