I still can't believe it! We're already on the plane, flying for almost three months to one of the most amazing places on earth. And not just flying; we have several incredibly exciting projects ahead of us, exploring and photographing Kamchatka's wildlife.

This time, we won't have time to fly to the Valley of Geysers, climb one of the volcanoes, or do many of the other things we all associate with Kamchatka. Everything will be much more interesting!
We departed Moscow at 5:00 PM and arrived in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky at 10:00 AM. But we didn't have any overnight stops. So we admired the beautiful views of endless Russia from the window.

But now we are already approaching.

Kamchatka greeted us with incredible snow-covered volcanic landscapes.

We're landing. The volcano greets us with a welcoming puff of smoke.

The airport was impressive))

We're packing up in the next few days. We need to assemble the boats, unmothball the motors, buy everything we need, get three tons of gear out of the basement, and load it onto the ship that will take us to Cape Zeleny. We set sail on June 12th. I'm returning to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky on July 17th (and immediately flying to Kronotsky Nature Reserve), and the guys are working until July 24th.
