Tips for tourists

Autumn Berkeley

I can't even remember why we decided to go to Berkeley that time. Maybe I read something interesting, or maybe it was just a spontaneous impulse. But it turned out to be a wonderful trip.

Let me say right off the bat that Berkeley is a college town. It's home to one of California's oldest universities, the University of California, Berkeley, known primarily for its student spirit and sports teams. But the city also has many other interesting things to offer.

Autumn enveloped the city in a beautiful warm cloud.

The City Hall, a very beautiful building from 1909

First Congregational Church

And a little bit of the autumn campus itself

The semicircular facade of Wellman Hall, built in 1912

Sather Gate, donated by Jane K. Sather in memory of her late husband, Peder Sather, founder of the College of California, which later became the University of California.

A very autumnal Sproul Plaza, the main hub of student activity

There are a lot of funny squirrels in the eucalyptus grove, which really want to come closer

At the exit from the grove you can come across a very interesting sculpture - Rotante Dal Foro Centrale (1971), created by Arnaldo Pomodoro

No less autumnal Telegraph Avenue

And finally, one more thing the city is famous for is the sunset view of San Francisco.
