In the current winter season, Russians will be offered tours to another Middle Eastern country with a warm sea. This is Oman, which is already being actively explored by tourists from Great Britain and Germany. This is reported by industry media.
Oman's Tourism Ministry expects an increase in the number of Russians tourists this season. This is facilitated by the launch of charter and regular flights to the capital of the Middle Eastern state of Muscat and the resort of Salalah. Nordwind Airlines will begin operating charters. Tour operators hope that the carrier's planes will deliver about 5,500 Russians on vacation in the winter season.
From October 30, Oman Air will start operating daily direct flights to Muscat. Flights will be operated from Domodedovo Airport on a Boeing 737 MAX, which can accommodate 150 economy class seats and 12 business class seats. Airfare starts at 33,238 rubles roundtrip, including 2 pieces of luggage.
The cost of a tour for two from November 26 to December 7 with accommodation in a 5-star hotel and an all-inclusive meal plan is 139,700 rubles.
Oman is located in the southeast of the Arabian Peninsula and is washed by the Arabian Sea and the Gulf of Oman. The state, unlike other countries in the region, has picturesque landscapes with mountains, waterfalls, savannas, tropics and fjords. Another distinctive feature of Oman is its historical component and Arab identity.
The best time to visit is from September to April. According to experts, Oman may well be an alternative to the UAE. Thus, in November, the average daytime temperature in Oman reaches +32 °C. The sea water warms up to +28 °C.
To visit the country, Russians need to obtain an Omani visa. This can be done upon arrival or on the eve of the trip online. The cost is $15 for 10 days.
Last year, Oman was visited by about 3 million foreign tourists. Local authorities intend to increase this number to 5 million by 2040. Most guests come from the Middle East. The country is also visited by tourists from India, Great Britain and Germany.
