Abnormal heat incinerates European countries. Forecasts are bleak

Most of the European continent continues to languish in abnormal heat. Spain, Italy, Germany, Greece, France and even northern Sweden and Finland are suffering from the scorching heat. Almost all European media outlets are writing about this.

In Italy, the heat doesn't let up even at night. The highest red alert level has been declared in 18 of the country's largest cities, including Rome, Milan, Bologna, Florence, Turin, Venice and Verona. Italian doctors recommend that not only the elderly and children, who are most affected by extreme temperatures, but also absolutely healthy people "in their prime," take safety precautions. The authorities in Rome are urging local residents not to go outside at all.

Three regions of Spain are experiencing abnormal temperatures: Andalusia, Extremadura and Castilla-La Mancha. Authorities are warning of the highest risk of forest fires. Germany has broken its temperature record set in 1905. In the northern and eastern regions of the country, the air temperature rose to +39 ֯С the day before. According to German scientists, the current heat is a consequence of climate change caused by anthropogenic activity. An "orange" danger level has been declared in France. A catastrophic situation has developed in the east of the country and part of the southern territories. In some areas, the temperature has not dropped below +40 ֯С even in the shade for several days.

The natural anomaly also struck the Scandinavian countries. Here, a series of anticyclones continues to torment Sweden and Finland. Swedish authorities even announced that passenger transport could be suspended in some regions due to the heat. Finland recorded its highest temperature in the entire history of observations. The water temperature in the North Sea equaled that in the Black Sea — +27֯ C.

Forecasters' forecasts are bleak: extreme heat will continue in Europe for at least another week.

It is interesting that the thermometer is setting records not only in the countries listed. Unprecedented drought has become a big problem in Japan, South Korea and Mexico. Here, the heat has caused the death of dozens of people. Forests are burning in California.

In Moscow today, Thursday, August 2nd +27 - 29°C, in St. Petersburg +26 - 28°C, in Sochi +28 - 30°C.
