Wine connoisseurs traditionally head to France or Italy in the fall to enjoy the atmosphere of winemaking, witness the process of creating the new vintage, or join a wine tour. But few people know that you can immerse yourself in wine culture in Germany.
A five-minute drive from the center of Baden-Baden lies the entire Rebland wine region. It encompasses three villages—Warnacht, Steinbach, Umweg, and the resort town of Neuweier. Rebland boasts 325 hectares of cultivated vineyards, making it one of Germany's largest autonomous wine regions. Whether you're a gourmet or a wine connoisseur, everyone will find plenty to enjoy here, including local spirits and delicious cuisine. Both are served in Rebland's many traditional inns, cozy lounges, and premium restaurants.
Another way to explore this heavenly corner of Europe is through wine tastings offered in the cellars of the region's renowned wineries. Tourists will be introduced to wines made from grape varieties such as Riesling, Pinot Noir, Blanc, and Gris, as well as local sparkling wines such as prosecco and cognac. Incidentally, Neuweier is home to the largest and most exclusive wine cellar, the Baden-Badener Winzergenossenschaft.
The most famous wineries in Rebland are the Baden-Baden Wine Cooperative, Neuweier Castle, the Fröhlich-Leonetti Winery and the Hotel Dütsch Winery.
The most convenient way to get to Baden-Baden from Moscow is by direct flight with Pobeda Airlines. A roundtrip flight costs 8,022 rubles. Flight time is approximately 3.5 hours. Baggage allowance is not included in the ticket price.
