How to See Japan and South Korea in One Trip

A new tourist route has been launched in Asia, combining visits to the cities and attractions of South Korea and Japan, according to Travel Weekly.

Travel company Saga has announced the launch of a new 13-day Essence of South Korea and Japan tour in 2019. The Korean Peninsula and Japan. This itinerary is designed for travelers who want to experience two unique cultures at once. During the trip, tourists will visit the South Korean cities of Gyeongju and Busan, as well as the capital, Seoul. The program includes sightseeing tours, visits to the N Seoul Tower observation deck, Gyeongbok Palace, the ancient Cheomseongdae Astronomical Observatory, the 1.5-kilometer-long sandy Haeundae Beach in Busan, and Korean War monuments. The program also includes a trip to the demilitarized zone, where North Korean leader Kim Jong-un held a sensational meeting with South Korean President Moon Jae. The Japanese portion of the tour includes excursions to Kyoto and Tokyo, views of Mount Fuji, a visit to the volcanic Lake Ashi, Japan's highest ropeway, Komagatake, the temples of Kiyomizu, Ronaji, and Kinkakuji, and cherry blossom gardens. No trip would be complete without a ride on Japan's high-speed trains.

The new route also offers a wealth of opportunities for gourmets. Travelers will learn how to make Japanese sushi and authentic Korean fried chicken, experience a traditional yakitori set dinner, visit tea houses, and explore restaurants themed around ninjas and sumo wrestling.

Four dates for the Essence of South Korea and Japan tour are currently available for booking: September 2 and October 28, 2019, and March 18 and May 4, 2020. Prices start at €4,500 per person. This price includes insurance, hotel accommodations, an overnight flight from Busan to Osaka, and meals.
