In Austria, the winners of the annual World Ski Awards, which are presented to the best hotels, companies, and resorts in the ski and leisure industry, have been announced.
The best ski resort in the world, according to experts and athletes, is Val Thorens, located in the famous The French region of "Three Valleys" is home to the highest ski resort in Europe, located at 2,300 meters above sea level. The resort boasts 600 km of alpine ski trails and 17 cross-country trails.
Verbier, located in the Swiss resort of the same name, was named the best ski hotel. This place is well known among snowboarders and freeriders.
The winner in the category "Best Indoor Ski Resort" was Ski Dubai in the United Arab Emirates.
Chalet Les Anges in Zermatt, Switzerland, has been named the best mountain chalet. Interestingly, cars are prohibited in Zermatt. Therefore, tourists are transported from the train to the hotels by electric cars or horse-drawn carriages.
We also highlight the best eco-hotel—the Rocksresort apartment complex in Laax, Switzerland. Its unique feature is that all stone buildings are heated using biomass energy, such as wood or non-toxic waste.
The best ski resorts in individual countries are: Rosa Khutor in Russia, Kitzbühel in Austria, Vallnord in Andorra, Bansko in Bulgaria, and Val Gardena in Italy.
