A Dubai theme park and the Churchill War Rooms bunker museum have been included in the list of the most popular attractions. The ranking is based on Google searches, The Telegraph reports.
The British publication found out which attractions tourists are talking about People most often search for information using a search engine. The top 50 included the ancient city of Machu Picchu, the Great Barrier Reef, the Taj Mahal, and many familiar tourist attractions. However, The Telegraph's experts also found several unexpected places on the list.
Google's top 50 places included the Majorelle Garden in Marrakech, the Buddhist temple complex of Boudhanath in Nepal, and the island of Bora Bora in the South Pacific. Interestingly, these places ranked above the Grand Canyon in the US, Piazza San Marco in Venice, and the Pyramids of Giza. Among the unexpected, the British also named the IMG Worlds of Adventure theme park in Dubai, Seven Mile Beach in the Cayman Islands, and the Churchill War Rooms museum in London.
Google representatives noted that search results and rankings of popular places may change as early as the next day.
